A 3-D CUP

This image was created using Ray Dream 2.0, then brought into PhotoShop where the table and cup were masked, the masked selection was then inverted, so a blue to red linear gradation could be applied from top to bottom. Finally a convolution filter was applied to the entire file to adjust the lighting. As a result, we have a ray traced cup on a pleasant synthetic background. The image was down sampled to 72 dpi, anti-aliased, then the colors were reduced to the least common denominator using adaptive palette equalization.

Finally, the file was saved as a JPEG in order to have a graphic which is only 50k in size and should load quickly even with a moderate bandwidth connection.
